So , probably the easiest thing to lose / break on the helicopter ,is the little plastic wishbone connector that connects the top rotors to the top stabilizer....there's only one of them , and if you lose it / break it , as my son did on its maiden flight today , there are NO replacements in the box for it.
A call to the Showcase store where we bought it , has yielded a replacement for it , but they only found one in their inventory of spare parts...
so what happens the next time it breaks / disappears...??
I'll return the damn thing and get a new one...
and will keep doing so.. I bought the extended warranty for it , so if they can't come up with a reliable supply of replacement parts , they'll keep replacing the whole helicopter for me...
if we merely lost it , we can't find the damn thing in the grass , because it's so small ,and black...
if it's prone to popping off , then they should make the thing fluorescent orange ,so you can easily spot it...
i'm painting replacement orange so if it goes again , we can find it....
and there seems to be no manufacturers website that you could go to , to order parts directly , which i wouldn't mind doing ...
Not sure where you are but maybe you should get a few extra ones ordered from the store? the store near me keeps the old and returned helos for parts..
I have had the unfortunate problem of breaking the top rotor asssembly but not the connector you are talking about...
I repaired it by removing the rotor.. removing the six tiny screws & opening the two parts that held it in...
I then drilled two 1/16th inch holes in the round stubs that remained in to the metel rod that goes up the center...
I then inserted a 1/16 diameter nail clipped to the length of the slots in the two pieces of plastic. Take care when putting it back together that the blades aren't binding with the ends of the nails... (I didn't use any glue) it has not broken since and has taken a lot of abuse...
I contacted Customer Support at Showcase to enquire about replacement parts for my helicopter, and this was the reply:
