I bought a water heater from Whirlpool a few months ago.
Just after a month or two, I found out that the water heater is leaking.
I am covered with a warranty as I even paid for an extended warranty for it. So, I called Whrilpool for a service.
I was told, I need to uninstall the unit and bring it back to where I have bought it.
Once I have returned the unit, they will send someone to my house to install a new unit for a replacement.
I was trying to insist why can't they just send someone now, (because it is really leaking and not usable anymore) and let their guy uninstall the broken unit to replace the new one, then their guy can bring the broken one back to them.
But guess what? What they have told me to do, was their SOP. That is their rule. If I want it replaced, I should follow their instruction.
So inconsiderate! Not a good customer service at all.
I had to pay for someone to uninstall their broken water heater, pay the delivery to the shop where I bought it, PLUS all the hassles of calling their service hotline etc.
Not worth it. This company doesn't know how to look after their customer.
They have just lost a customer - for life!
